{"id":764,"date":"2018-05-06T06:14:38","date_gmt":"2018-05-06T11:14:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/?p=764"},"modified":"2018-05-08T08:02:54","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T13:02:54","slug":"margery-pontiac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/margery-pontiac\/","title":{"rendered":"Margery Pontiac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>It is with great sadness\u00a0that I report\u00a0the passing of\u00a0one\u00a0of Buckeye&#8217;s long-term sanctuary residents.\u00a0 Margery Pontiac was assisted in crossing the Rainbow Bridge on\u00a0Friday, April\u00a020th, 2018.\u00a0\u00a0Margery had developed a cancerous tumor inside her lung, which was draining into the lung making it difficult for her to breathe.\u00a0\u00a0She saw Dr. Riggs a few times in February and March to have the fluid removed,\u00a0but it got to the point\u00a0where\u00a0we knew a hard decision had to be made.\u00a0\u00a0This medical issue\u00a0could not be cured,\u00a0so\u00a0we chose\u00a0to say good bye\u00a0in order to save her from further suffering.\u00a0\u00a0To say she was adored would be a great understatement.\u00a0 Margery was loved by many people.\u00a0\u00a0She lived with Kristen Doherty for ten years, so she was at least eleven or twelve years old.\u00a0 Binky free, beautiful girl!\u00a0\u00a0<em>&#8212; Stephanie Lodge<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2573\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/margery-pontiac_03.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Margery Pontiac (named after a Holstein cow) is a beautiful dark brown agouti rabbit with vision problems. Ideally Margery would like us to place hay in her litterbox one strand at a time. This is somehow very reassuring to her, but as you can imagine,becomes highly impractical. If we move at a normal pace, she becomes flustered and overwhelmed and bats the hay right out of our hands.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/margery-pontiac_01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-765 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/margery-pontiac_01-254x300.jpg\" alt=\"margery-pontiac_01\" width=\"254\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/margery-pontiac_01-254x300.jpg 254w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/margery-pontiac_01-127x150.jpg 127w, https:\/\/www.ohare.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/margery-pontiac_01.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Margery has developed close ties to only certain humans whom she will let per her, but only if a specific scripted routine is followed.
