Rosa & Satie

Meet Rosa and Satie,

Rosa was part of a rescue in Akron, Ohio BHRS was called about. Rosa had 3 surviving babies nested on someone’s front porch. Once in rescue Rosa gave birth to an additional litter of rabbits. Satie is one of those babies, now 9 months old and bonded to her Mom.

They are acclimating well to the house rabbit life. Rosa is coming out of her shell with the help of her more adventurous and inquisitive daughter. Satie is a charmer, young, spunky and playful she has adapted well to being doted on by her foster family.

They would do well with a patient and attentive family. They love their toys, their hidey box and zooming into their tunnel. When they finally wind down they can often be found snuggling together. They are voracious hay eaters and Rosa has butt-twitches from excitement when she gets her fresh salads.

These girls I filled with personality and fun and already bonded!

Midnight

Meet Midnight! This little sweetheart was a winter rescue, saved from the chilly outdoors. Despite her fancy fur and impeccable litter skills, she’s a bit shy at first and takes time to warm up to her humans. But guess what? This adorable fluff ball is a total foodie! Offer her a snack, and you’ll have a new best bunny buddy in no time!

Pinky

Pinky may be the most extra character we’ve met yet. He’s curious, playful, ROTTEN and loves to snuggle. An agent of chaos and the most tender snuggle bunny ever, Pinky would do well with an attentive and patient family.

He’s athletic, intelligent and is young and super playful. He was born into our foster care from his Mom Rosa, who was rescued pregnant in the North Hill neighborhood of Akron. He has all the charm of his parents Steve and Rosa, and all the energy of a 6-month old baby. We love his colorful personality and think he will charm his way into the right person or family’s heart.

Felice

We have some heartbreaking news to share. Our recently rescued lop rabbit, whom we affectionately named “Felice,” did not survive. Despite our best efforts and the love and care of our dedicated volunteer, Felice’s journey ended far too soon. 🌈
Losing Felice reminds us of the critical importance of responsible pet ownership and the devastating consequences of abandoning domestic rabbits.
Rabbits, like Felice, are not equipped to fend for themselves in the wild. They are vulnerable to predators, exposure, and starvation when left to face the harsh elements alone. Those who abandon domestic rabbits outside do nothing more than put their lives in danger.
Thank you to everyone who donated and suggested names. ❤️

While Good Samaritan Jim Kessen was walking his dog in Berea last night, he found a suffering domestic bunny who needed help. Instead of walking past, like many people did, he rescued her. This tiny flea covered, malnourished lop was dumped outside in the rain. The poor baby looked like a drowned rat and seemed like she lost her will to live. Her skin was covered with black flea dirt, making her fur feel bumpy. She has been given sub q fluids and flea medicine. Slowly we will remove the layers of filth attached to her skin. She is still very shaky on her feet and has only eaten greens so far, we hope she will soon learn that she is safe and will never be neglected again.
