Barley

After much debate, we made the hard decision to euthanize Barley.  His medical issues were multiplying and it was affecting his quality of life.  It wasn’t a decision we took lightly and both Kristen and Stephanie were with him until the very end.  This is truly the hardest part of loving animals.  He was given the best last day with all the treats he could eat. The only time he was not eating was when he was sleeping.  When the time came, he faded away peacefully.

New to our Sanctuary Program

Barley is a very gentle, sweet man who has developed an extreme head tilt due to neurological problems. The head tilt came on suddenly, but he’s adjusting to the physical changes.  Barley is very accepting of back and neck massages.  He might not be able to get around like he used to, but he is giving it his all.

As he was …

Barley is a big beautiful New Zealand white or REW (red-eyed white).  Barley was adopted out with his sister, Hops, in 2015, but was returned after his sister passed away.

Despite his delightful demeanor, he is not afraid to tell you when he doesn’t like something.  With proper care, his head tilt is manageable and Barley can continue to be happy, carefree rabbit.

Our sanctuary rabbits require special love and care. Their home is with us at the sanctuary and they are not available for adoption. You can directly support these rabbits by sponsoring them.

SuzieQ

SuzieQ came to Sarah as a foster and quickly won her heart.  Sarah can’t imagine life without Q and so she had to adopt her.   Simply watching Q play is a joy itself.  Q is very particular about her hay box.  She’ll grab clumps of hay to move them to just the right spot, push, shove, jump around in circles until they’re just right.  A fast worker, Q also (de)constructs cardboard boxes.  Sarah has loved watching her grow and become the confident bunny she is now.

SuzieQ is a shy girl whose first love is “deconstructing” her cardboard boxes.  Give her a window and within the hour, she’ll give you french doors (she’s a fast worker).  Q is great at using her hay box, and rearranges things just to her liking.  She is a beautiful girl and when she stretches out, you’ll love seeing all her beautiful markings.

Archie

Archie won the adoption lottery when he met his new mom, Lisa.  It’s safe to say that he has Lisa wrapped around his tiny paw.  Archie has even learned to maximize his snackie intake by finding hidden treats.

Archie was found in a park, but you wouldn’t know it from his super friendly personality.  He is young, healthy, and looking forward to a family to call his own.

Daffodil

Robert, Taylor, and Zen (guinea pig brother) are extraordinarily excited to welcome Daffodil, AKA Daffy, to their home.  Daffy’s pen is larger than most living rooms!  She is spoiled and happy as can be.

Born in foster care on March 21 of this year, Daffodil is a typical teenage bunny.  She is silly, hungry, and always on the move.  Her litterbox habits are spectacular.  Rosa and Iris are her sisters, and their mom is Jayme.
